Describe your perfect day Solitude, solitude, solitude. Immersed in a state of complete awareness. Only cats around, no humans. An endless purr surrounds me.

Best book ever read? My own book, Cyprusbound because it’s short, unpretentious and real.

Best childhood memory? My good memories have to do with animals. Looking into animals’ eyes and thinking it’s so unfair they can’t speak.

What is always in your fridge? There’s ice in the freezer.

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment? I listen to my own ASMR whisper works in the car just to counteract other drivers’ anger erupting everywhere around me.

What’s your spirit animal? Cats, meow 🙂

What are you most proud of? Living consciously, respecting all living beings, being vegan, not abusing my existence.

What movie scene has really stayed with you? The opening sequence of my own first film, which still only exists on the page. It’s a passionate expression that I keep replaying in my mind until it comes to life.

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be? Quentin Crisp, the British writer and raconteur (bring this word back) who had the most astonishingly self deprecating sense of humour and spoke about everything with an impressive balance between clarity, sharp wit and sincerity. I’d chose him.

If you could time travel when/where would you go? I time travel a lot. Right now it’s 2006 and I’m listening to Goldfrapp and Scissor Sisters.

What is your greatest fear? My greatest fear is something I experience daily, people not caring about the environment, not learning from previous mistakes, not educating themselves, not turning to veganism, wilfully ignoring the urgency of climate change and the truth about where our food comes from.

What would you say to your 18-year-old self? You see things long before everybody else does so prepare for a lifetime full of waiting.

Name the one thing that would stop you dating someone People touching their face or food without washing hands, using antibacterial wipes etc. An overall lack of fundamental understanding of hygiene. It’s something that manifests as intuitive muscle memory.
